Purpose Statement:
To shepherd, to guard and to protect the flock of God.

NLF Board of Elders Mission Statement:

  • To shepherd New Life Fellowship Church in faithfully fulfilling her mission
    statement and her unique values (see below),
  • To faithfully oversee and support the Senior/Lead Pastor,
  • To prayerfully discern God’s will around key decisions/initiatives for the
  • To wisely steward the resources (financial, legal and people) of the New
    Life community.

Specific Functions:

  1. To pray.
  2. To guard and evaluate the overall health of the church, both in spiritual life and effectiveness (ensuring we are being good stewards of God’s resources/people), and being sure we are fulfilling our mission statement and values.
  3. To approve activities beyond the budget with fiscal responsibilities and authority delegated by the Senior Pastor.
  4. Evaluate the Senior Pastor annually.
  5. Give input on strategic plan and annual church-wide goals and objectives.
  6. Approve church policy as initiated by the staff.
  7. To handle church discipline as referred by the pastors.
  8. To affirm new ministries and positions as recommended by the pastoral staff.

Lead Pastor



Rich Villodas is the Lead Pastor at New Life Fellowship Church. On October 6th, 2013, Rich succeeded Pete Scazzero as Lead Pastor. Rich was born and raised in the East New York section of Brooklyn, just 20 minutes from New Life. He graduated from Nyack College and then went on to complete a Masters of Divinity degree at Alliance Theological Seminary. When Rich is not reading, he is cheering on his beloved Mets, Knicks and Jets teams. Rich is married to Rosie and they have a little girl, named Karis.

Tom Daniel

Board Chair



Tom Daniel is an Elder at New Life and has been attending New Life for several years with his wife and three children.

Myrna Agosto



Myrna is an Elder and her husband Carlos and herself have been attending New Life for several years.

Andy Lezon



Andy Lezon has been attending New Life Fellowship for over eight years. Throughout these years he has been blessed to serve young adults, small groups, children’s ministry, prayer ministry and the worship team. He loves reading, sports, movies and spending time with his wife, Liz, and their son, Luke.

Steve Lee



Over recent years, Steve has learned how real and relevant God is in our lives. He credits this to his beautiful and prayerful wife, Michelle and New Life Fellowship. Steve enjoys small group gatherings, photography, reading bio’s and Emotionally Healthy books and playing Settler of Catan and his PS4.

Susan Chung



Susan Chung is a native New Yorker, after moving here from Hong Kong at the age of four. She can converse in three Chinese dialects and welcomes anyone to test her! She grew up in Elmhurst but currently lives in New Hyde Park with Scott, her husband of 20 years, and her three growing boys. Susan patiently anticipates what the Lord has planned in this new season.

Rick Chowayou



Rick has been attending New Life for 17 years, where he met his wife, Pam. In that time, he has led several small groups, as well as, equipped and released small group leaders. They have two children, Owen (5) and Selah (1). Rick is excited about this serving opportunity.
