MARRIAGE

marriage_sg

We are passionate for marriages at New Life Fellowship Church.  We believe that marriage between one male and one female is a covenantal relationship that points to our ultimate marriage between Christ and His bride, the church. God’s intention is that, at the heart of our spiritual formation, we get equipped to love as He loves – freely, totally, faithfully and fruitfully.

We affirm that “The dignity and balance of human life depend at every moment of history and at every point on the globe on who woman will be for man and who man will be for woman… The union of man and woman builds and shapes families, families shape neighborhoods, neighborhoods shape communities, communities shape cities, cities shape states, states shape nations, nations shape world. When the marital union breaks down, eventually so does everything resting on it” (John Paul II).

Our mission:

  • We aim to transform marriages that impact families for generations. We do this through equipping couples, through the integration of Scripture and emotionally healthy skills, to experience God’s design for a purposeful, joyful and intimate marriage.
  • We are also committed to developing highly trained marriage coaches who will teach, mentor and lead others out of their brokenness and authenticity.

Recent surveys reveal that people place having a happy marriage above work satisfaction, making money and even good health.  We also know that happy marriages don’t happen naturally – at least in 99% of relationships. It is one thing to fall in love. It is quite another to sustain that love and be transformed by Jesus Christ in the process!  Few people take the time and energy needed to be discipled in their marriages and families.

At New Life Fellowship, we believe that the marriage relationship, for those of us that are married, is the first place that God calls us to walk out our “following of Jesus”.

Some of the factors that contribute to a healthy, thriving marriage are: a vision for your marriage, trust, commitment, good self-esteem, good communication, healthy sensuality and sexuality, and humor.

Upcoming Marriage Retreat (Dec 3-4, 2011)

Marriages that Taste and Point to Heaven

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

God has a radical purpose for your marriage.

Come away to the picturesque Delaware Water Gap at the Tuscarora Inn for a very significant spiritual formation time as a couple. Scripture teaches that a people “without a vision perish.” This applies to all of our lives, especially as it relates to the long term health and joy God intends for our marriages.

During this two day retreat, you will have the opportunity  to be filled with God’s beautiful, profound, life-changing vision for both your personal life and your marriage. Secondly, you will spend crucial time as a couple acquiring the knowledge and lifelong relationship skills necessary for an intimate and fulfilling marriage as followers of Christ.

This 2 day retreat brings together  ongoing insights Pete and Geri have gleaned over their 16 years in leading retreats, seminars and groups for couples.

Cost:

$245/couple before Oct. 30
