Beatitudes Daily Office

This prayer guide explores the biblical truths and principles from the sermon series The Beatitudes: Upside Down Spirituality that Pastor Pete preached in the Spring of 2005. The Beatitudes explore the richness of Jesus’ radical understanding of His kingdom. From the nature of “true peacemaking,” to the “dark night of the soul,” to our choice to climb the “ladder of humility,” each Beatitude plows new ground in breaking up faulty understandings of what it means to follow Jesus, and takes us to a new place in our journey.

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Daily Office

This prayer guide explores the biblical truths and principles found in the book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (Integrity, 2006). Emotional health and contemplative spirituality, when interwoven, offer opportunities to transform the hidden places deep beneath the surface of our lives. It is our prayer that the Holy Spirit will be your guide for this inward journey into the deep parts of your inner self. May He lead you into all truth so that you experience the gift and the beauty of the love of God, as well as the gift and beauty of your own life.

Your Life, Your Calling Your Work Daily Office

Throughout history, calling has been narrowly defined with our occupations (e.g. careers), our place in life (e.g. singleness, marriage), or exclusively for people in professional Christian service (e.g. missionaries, pastors). As a result, we often think: “Whatever was my calling, I missed it. I’m not trained. I’m just a lay person. I’m just working, waiting for my calling.” Scripture teaches, however, that every Christian is called by God at the moment of conversion, and that calling encompasses the whole of our lives. Recovering this biblical truth, as Colossians says, is like discovering a new continent!
