At New Life, we believe that life change happens best in circles, not rows. That is to say, that when we are in small group environments, there is a quality of spiritual formation that happens that doesn’t exist when we are sitting in rows on Sundays. Our desire is to see people in community with each other, which means we know, and are known, we exchange our stories and live out of a place of love for each other and our neighbors.
We have four basic types of small groups:
Neighborhood Groups (e.g. Flushing, Elmhurst, etc)
Affinity Groups (e.g. Men’s, Women’s, Young Adult, Marriage, Writers’ group, etc)
Task Groups (e.g. Food pantry group, Worship Band, etc)
Content-Driven Groups (e.g. Romans Bible Study, Recovery Groups, etc)
What can I expect in a small group?
Small Groups normally consist of 5-15 people and are aimed toward building one’s relationship with God, others, and the community around them. Small Groups typically include a Bible Study or discussion, as well as prayer and community-building time.
